Have a Wonderful Summer! I cannot believe that the end of the school year is here. I'm so grateful to have been president of such an amazing group of board members this year. Sadly, I will not be returning for the 2022-2023 school year, but having met the new slate of officers, I am confident the Parent Association will be in good hands. See below for a list of the MCH parents who will be joining the PA board next year. As I wrap up my duties, I would especially like to thank Jeremy Syme for his unending devotion to making sure this board continues on in a way that is meaningful to the school and community. I would like to extend a special thank you to each board member as they have made this year worth it in every way possible. I also again would like to thank our teachers, staff members and community for doing everything we can to continue to grow and change through these often trying times. I can not wait to see what the officers for next year have to offer. Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Thank you again for an amazing year! Yours in service and gratitude, Susan Smith President, MCH Parent Association Congratulations to the Newest Members of the PA Board of Directors! Thank you to everyone who voted for our new Parent Association directors. We are happy to announce that the following people were elected to serve a two-year term on the PA Board of Directors:
You can read more about our new directors here, and you can view the final elections results here. A Note From the Community Development Committee We'd like to send a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Walk & Talks, Book/Podcast meetups, and parenting seminars. We laughed, envisioned, and pondered together and are grateful for each opportunity. Next year, we are excited to continue to bring meaningful programming to the Parent Association. Please reach out to Julie at [email protected] to share your interests and ideas for growing our parent community. And as summer lures us outdoors, we offer this nourishing quote from Maria Montessori: “Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water; and when the grass of the meadows is wet with dew, let them run on it and trample it with their bare feet; let them rest peacefully when a tree invites them to sleep beneath its shade; let them shout and laugh when the sun wakes them in the morning.” Don't Forget About Our End of Year Picnic Meet-up! It's bittersweet to realize the end of another school year is upon us. While the pandemic is still preventing us from having a formal gathering, we do want to mark the end of the year as a community. Please plan to join us at Marymoor Park at noon on June 25. Pack a picnic lunch, bring a blanket, and join other MCH families to celebrate the end of the year. There will be no organized activities. We will meet near the Marymoor Playground next to Parking Lot K.
