Frequently Asked Questions About SEED
How are MCH PA - SEED gifts used?
All gifts to MCH PA - SEED, whether received during a fundraising drive or anytime throughout the year, are designated to projects and programs that support the MCH PA Vision and Mission.
Gifts to SEED ensure our children receive an enhanced experience that goes beyond the fundamentals and helps our children realize their highest potential. For more information about the projects and programs that are funded through SEED, see Projects and Programs.
Why give if I pay tuition?
This is one of our most common questions. As parents we chose to pay for this quality education for our children. For some that is enough. But for many of us, we are willing to invest more to enhance the experience. SEED is a way for the community to say, this is what is important to us and this is what we are willing to invest. Ultimately, it is a choice each family makes, but we are fortunate that over half of the community chose to make this extra gesture.
How much should I give?
The most important part of SEED is the community participation. Participation begins with a simple gift of $1. Our average gift is near $450. That average comes from gifts of many different sizes. If you use our recurring payment (or one through your employer) a gift of $450 can be as little as $38.00 per month. Also, employer matching can double the impact of your gift.
Can I designate my gift to go to specific areas or projects?
The most effective way to have the greatest impact and give your child/children the best possible experience is to support the MCH PA - SEED Annual Fund. The MCH PA directs funds in accordance with a defined Vision, Mission and set of programs. The MCH PA works in close coordination with the MCH Administration to ensure all programs align with the MCH educational principles and goals. If you would still like to designate your gift, we recommend selecting from one of the following programs that the MCH PA supports.
Can I give a gift for the benefit of my child’s classroom?
All gifts are greatly appreciated. Gifts to the SEED program enrich all the children in the MCH community and by extension increase the value of the education all our children receive. If you would still like to make a gift to your child’s classroom, the teachers have wish lists for items they would like in their classroom. Families generally purchase a wish list item in celebration of their child’s/children’s birthday. Gifts going directly to classrooms are closely monitored by the MCH Administration to ensure all materials can be implemented appropriately into the curriculum and consumed by the students.
Are there other options for gifting other than monetary donations?
Monetary donations are the primary request and enable flexibility to apply funds to the areas of greatest need as projects and programs shift over time. With that said, gifts of volunteer support, services and/or materials are welcome. Please contact us if you are interested in making a gift of time, service or material.
Is there a way to maximize my gift?
Yes, you may be able to double your gift to MCH PA – SEED by taking advantage of your company’s matching gift program.
