Does SEED Matter?
Hear from teachers and parents how SEED funding has helped them:
I recently attended an AMS conference. While there I learned more clearly just how important providing children a connection to nature is. Being in nature strengthens our mind and body providing us with everything we need to be strong and healthy people. I was inspired by what I learned and have been implementing new and exciting projects with the kids. The conference was so incredibly helpful to me. MCH and the PA have provided me with the training and tools I need to be a successful farm manager, garden specialist, teacher, team player and person. I look forward to more opportunities for professional development. - Mr. Burt (Farm Manager and Garden Specialist)
“The annual AMS conference is a place for us teachers and staff to reconnect to core Montessori philosophies, and it is vital for us to stay up-to-date and centered in our work. Without the conference, it can be easy to drift away from our training over time but having the opportunity to attend the AMS conference refreshes us as teachers and allows us to come back stronger and more focused each year. We are only able to do this through the help of the Parent Association and donations from the community during our annual SEED drive. Thank you MCH PA!” – Ms. Alyx (Elementary Lead Teacher)
"Montessori is an education of high ideals where it is easy to go astray in the practical application. Continuously interacting with others doing the same work is crucial to improving my practice. We have one of the foremost regional Montessori societies in the Pacific Northwest, but it doesn’t have the resources the American Montessori Society has for continuing education. I appreciate the Parent Association’s help in getting to the annual conference, where I can find what I need and beginning teachers can also find what they need. I can help others learn how to deal with state level issues and get advice for our own challenges.” – Ms. Mary (Elementary Lead Teacher)
“I'm very thankful for our PA because their financial support brings MCH educators together to learn more and grow more. I've truly enjoy attending the AMS annual event, and it makes me feel alive by learning and connecting with Montessorians from all over the world. I look forward to this amazing opportunity every year. Thank you for your support!” – Ms. Jihye (Early Childhood Lead Teacher)
“I have gained experience and knowledge through continuing education courses such as the AMS event that happens yearly, which allows Montessorians around the country to connect and share our love of Maria Montessori's Philosophy and methods. Thank you MCH PA, for always being there to help connect us all and the wonderful MCH community!” – Ms. Jackie (Early Childhood Student Support Coordinator)
“The Parent Association has demonstrated tremendous support for me during my time here at MCH, furthering my professional development by paying for a significant portion of my tuition to the Montessori Educational Institute of the Pacific Northwest. In doing so the PA helped me to transition from an assistant teacher to a lead teacher, which has been an invaluable asset to my career and has made my time here at MCH that much more intentional and meaningful.” – Ms. Kaila (Toddler Lead Teacher)
“The MCH Parent Association agreed to help financially support my training to become a Montessori credentialed teacher. Their support in my professional development has helped me immensely in reaching my professional goals, and their kindness and generosity is so greatly appreciated!” – Ms. Stephanie (Toddler Lead Teacher)
“I moved back to the Seattle area for the sole purpose of pursuing my Montessori Elementary training as there was no Elementary training offered in my previous home state. I felt like MCH was the school I could call home, and I'm so grateful for the Parent Association sponsoring my Montessori training. Without the PA's tuition help, I would not have been able to afford the training and it opened up doors for me in my career that were previously closed.” – Ms. Alyx (Elementary Lead Teacher)
