The MCH Infant and Toddler program is hosting an Adopt-a-Highway cleanup event on Sunday, May 7th from 8:30-11:30 am. Although it is being hosted by the I/T program, anyone in our community is welcome to join!
Our section of the nearby highway starts near the school on 218th and goes west along Highway 202 (Redmond/Fall City Rd) for about 2 miles up to the red brick road. Depending on the number of teachers and parent volunteers we have, we may split into different groups between each side of the road, or all go out together. Plan for a 3-hour commitment unless we get a large number of volunteers, then we will run two shifts from 8:30-10am and 9:30-11am.
Since the minimum age of volunteers is 16 years old, your students will not be able to join us. However, childcare will be available on the Early Childhood playground for Toddler students and older. We will also provide coffee and donuts!
If you are able to join us, please email Reilly at [email protected] with the following information and she will make sure you get the necessary sign up information to participate!
Please include:
Once signed up, you will take a quick safety training and sign a waiver. Participants will be provided with a safety vest, a litter picker upper and garbage bags. There will be work signs and cones on the road for extra safety.
We hope to see you there!
