2025 Board of Directors Elections

Each year the Montessori Children's House Parent Association holds an election for our Board of Directors. It’s a small thing, but incredibly important to our legal responsibilities as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our bylaws dictate that 25% of our membership must participate in the election for it to be valid. Our membership is made up of all parents and guardians of currently enrolled children. This year we need a minimum of 86 voters to certify the election.

Ballots were sent out on Monday, June 2, 2025. If you did not receive it, check your spam/junk folder then contact us. This election runs from 6:00 AM on June 2 until 11:30 PM on June 15, 2025 Pacific Time.

The board recommends a slate of directors for election. It is not a competitive election, and it is recommended that all members on the slate are elected. This year we have nine outstanding candidates. Their profiles can be viewed below. Write-in candidates are allowed.

Please take two minutes to help up complete this critical legal requirement. If you have any questions, you can email us.

Important Note: Members currently in the middle of their two-year terms, who will be returning to next year's board, include Daniel Steinberg, Mary Squiers, Sibyl Jose, and Rachel Hutchinson.

Originally from Paris, France, we moved to Seattle three years ago and quickly adopted the PNW lifestyle. With a background in finance and a Montessori AMI certification, I’m passionate about education and community. I love plants, puzzles, and spending time with friends over a board game and a glass of wine. My son Jude will be in Kindergarten this fall, and we’re excited to begin this new chapter together. For this coming year, I’ve chosen to dedicate my time to our new baby, Zélie, and I’m looking forward to support the PA and help strengthen the connection between families and the school.

A Pacific Northwest transplant from Boston, I found my way to Seattle with my wife Jesse after working at TripAdvisor.com (Feel free to ask me for travel tips!). Our family's journey with MCH began when we moved to Redmond five years ago, and we've been deeply invested in this community ever since. Our daughter JoJo has flourished here, moving from Salmonberry through Pacific Willow, while our youngest, Cora, has grown from Kinnikinnick into Dogwood. As Senior Manager at the Downtown Seattle Association, I oversee downtown Seattle's parks and coordinate major community events like the annual tree lighting ceremony. This role has given me extensive experience in strategic planning, community engagement, and event management—skills I'm excited to bring to the MCH board. I'm passionate about creating meaningful experiences that bring people together, and I see serving on the board as an opportunity to contribute to the school that has given our family so much.

Our family is fairly new to the Pacific Northwest, having recently moved from the Midwest. We have three children in the early childhood classes and we’ve really appreciated how warm and welcoming the community has been. I have a pediatric nursing background and love working with kids and families. Being part of a supportive, connected environment means a lot to me. We’ve been having a great time getting to know the area and building our Seattle bucket list—so far, we’re loving the food, the bookstores, museums, and all the fun city spots we keep discovering. I’m looking forward to getting more involved, meeting more families, and contributing however I can to support our school community.

I'm a (mostly) Washington native. My family moved to the Seattle area when I was three and I've lived here ever since. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Western Washington University and the University of Washington. After graduating I started working for Microsoft where I spent 25 years in a variety of roles, with the majority of my time in cybersecurity. In 2019, I left to become a stay-at-home parent. My husband Kumar and I live in Redmond with our 7-year-old son Krishna. Krishna has been at MCH since 2020, growing and thriving. My interests include dance, gardening, languages, cooking, and travel. I also volunteer for the AARP's Fraud Watch Network, helping victims of scams. I'm looking forward to contributing my time to the wonderful MCH community.

Hi! I'm Siddharth, or Sid Kulkarni, proud parent of two kids at MCH - Norah (EC, Madrona) and Lev (Toddler, Dogwood) Kulkarni. My wife (also an MCH music teacher, Becky Greenstein) and I moved to the Seattle-area from New York City in Dec'20, and have since fallen in love with everything the MCH community has to offer. For work, I'm a Sr. Technical Program Manager at Instacart, and when I'm not working - I love jogging, I've completed the NYC marathon in 2014 and several half marathons. I also love to hike/visit national parks with my family. At MCH, I'm interested in organizing events for the school such as our camping trips, staff appreciation week, harvest fest, and many more. But most of all, I'm interested in getting to know the community and would like to hear ideas on how we can all make this school better, not just for our kids, but for all the future kids that will go here to have a unique educational experience.

I grew up in small town Connecticut, and completed my formal education on the East Coast. After earning my Veterinary degree from Cornell, I spent two years practicing as a horse vet in California. In 2014, I relocated to the Puget Sound area, where I founded my own veterinary practice. I love being my own boss! When I’m not working, I'm usually spending time outside with my family, or tackling a woodworking project in my shop. Our family joined MCH in the fall of 2020, and my two boys have thrived in both the EC and elementary programs. I've been a PA board member since 2021, and have loved working with other parents to support our wonderful MCH community!

I grew up in Oregon and attended the Montessori School of Beaverton through Upper Elementary, so I am passionate about the Montessori method. My son Quentin is in the Lower Elementary program. My daughter Finley is in her first year of the Early Childhood program. She’s so excited to be going to her “big brother’s school.” I love seeing them both build their social and emotional skills throughout their time at MCH and gain a love of self-directed learning. Before Quentin was born, I worked in communications and business operations for Amazon and Microsoft for over 10 years. I love to plan, organize, and execute projects and events, and so I am thrilled to give my time and apply my skills to helping this school continue its success. Outside of school, as a family, we fill our days with traveling, boating, fishing, hiking, cooking, entertaining, gardening and watching movies.
